This headline slamming celebs and their 'knobbly knees' is peak Daily Mail

Good grief.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, The Daily Mail has truly outdone itself today.

This is the question they have posed on their front page today.

Ah yes, one of the great conundrums facing the human race — what to do about female celebrities and their goddamned knobbly knees?

dailymail

The paper identifies Angelina Jolie, Kate Moss, Demi Moore and Catherine Zeta-Jones as among those afflicted with Knobbly Knee Syndrome.

The article opens with this frankly chilling paragraph.

A chic black mini-dress and high heels should have provided the perfect showcase for Angelina Jolie’s long, lean legs. Yet, instead of drawing admiring glances, the outfit merely highlighted the beautiful 40-year-old actress’s terrifyingly bony knees, with every tendon and sinew exposed like an anatomist’s drawing.

THE HORROR.

The article makes clear that these women’s knees are sharp and potentially DANGEROUS.

unseemly knobby knees
sharply protruding kneecaps
painfully bony knees

And then to really drive the point home, they quote a doctor who posits that knobbly knees might technically be a sign of obesity (no, really) and liken them to “two eggs stuck to a broomstick”.

The article has been heavily criticised and ridiculed on social media.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail commenters have also had their say.
